Our good friends over at
WXIA 11Alive, an NBC affiliate in Atlanta announced they will be broadcasting the local fireworks celebration July 4th in high-def, have you checked your local listings to see if anyone is in your area? Actually, it's July 4th, going outside and watching the show in real-life resolution is permissible (but just this once). Unfortunately none of the major network's websites indicate they will be airing high-def fireworks nationally for those of us who will stay in or who live in cities that had their shows already. However, you can always fire up a game of
Geometry Wars and it's practically the same thing.
Update - As Tyler pointed out below, there are high-def fireworks to be had, albeit reruns from 2003, on Discovery HD. Like old leftovers, smell them first, then consume.
